Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

All I share are indulgent sweets for humans, but what about our furry friends? My sweet black lab, Charlie, just turned 9 a few days ago, so of course, she deserved a few extra treats, and what the heck they’re too easy to say no. Not to mention, they are super cheap! I have to say, I did try a few myself and they’re actually pretty good, considering it’s a dog treat. Now brace yourselves with this post because it’ll be filled with more dog pics than biscuits, and that’s how it’s going to be.

Did I forget to mention, they are so so so easy! Please let us know if you made them because I want to see those cute pics!

Ingredients you need

That’s it. Seriously!

How do I make the dog biscuits

To be honest, these are one of the easiest baked goods you’ll ever make. No joke! All you do is mix together the ingredients, roll them out and then bake.

  1. Mix together your pumpkin, peanut butter, and eggs.
  2. Then, add in your flour and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out and use cookie cutters to cut.
  4. Bake

Of course, you can doll these up a little bit with honey or oats, but this is a great base recipe and dogs love them. Also, feel free to use some fun cookie cutters!

Important Tips

Now, when it comes to dog biscuits you can’t really mess them up and if you do, your pup doesn’t care what they look like! Now, here are just a few extra tips, just in case 😉.

⬆️ Yes, we’re packers fans! Go pack go!

Great tools to have

I keep saying it, but these dog biscuits are super easy, so they really don’t need a lot of tools, but here are my suggestions!

How to store

If you bake the treats a little longer, they will be crispier and can be stored in a treat jar, bag…etc You’ll know if they’re crispy because they will snap when you break them.

If your treats are a little softer, you might want to store them in the fridge just in case of mold. They will still break but not snap.

The biscuits will last for about 1 – 1 1/2 months.

Extra tip: You could also freeze them for a much longer period of time.

What I love about these dog treats (not just Charlie)

If you thought chocolate chip cookies were easy, think again. These dog biscuits are the easiest thing you’ll ever make and your pups love them!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (make sure the peanut butter has no sugar substitutes, I used skippy)

  • 2 cups flour or whole wheat

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp honey

Directions

  • Pre heat your oven to 350 F. Line 2 large cookie sheets with parchment and set aside.
  • Start by whisking together your peanut butter, pumpkin, eggs, and honey. Once whisked, add in your flour and continue to combine until a dough forms. The dough will be soft and slightly sticky.
  • Roll the dough on floured surface into 1/4″ thick. *Notes
  • Once rolled, use a bone cutter to cut the dough and place on the cookie sheet. The biscuits can be close together because they will not spread out.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until browned and crispy.

Notes

  • Flour your surface a little extra because the dough is softer and stickier than normal cookie dough.
