Lemon Poppy Seed Bread
We’re starting the year off right with some citrus bread! Lemon poppy seed bread is a love all around… I mean, who doesn’t love it? This easy and tasty bread will be perfect to start the week as a breakfast snack or afternoon indulgence. Let’s get baking!
Ingredients:
Bread
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1/2 + 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3/4 cups milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon zest
Lemon Glaze
- 1/2 cup powder sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- 1/4 sliced almonds
- Start off by pre-heating your oven to 350 F. Grease a bread pan and set aside.
2. Whisk together your flour, salt, sugar, poppy seeds, and baking powder.

3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs, vanilla and almond extract, oil, lemon zest and juice.

4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and combine until fully mixed.

5. Pour into the bread pan and bake for 50-60 minutes.
6. Once the bread is done, let cool and make the glaze.

7. To make the glaze, whisk all ingredients together and pour over bread. Garnish with sliced almonds.
