2020 Holiday Gift Guide for the Bakers

Holidays are right around the corner and if you didn’t get to shopping (or skipped it ๐Ÿ˜‰) we’ve got the best gifts for the bakers in your life. Whether you’re an amateur baker or just starting, these kitchen tools are a must. P.S. – Add some of these to your own list or treat yourself! ๐Ÿ˜ Click the titles for the links.

1. KitchenAid 5 Qt Stand Mixer

If you’re looking for something really special to gift, a stand mixer is great item for the home bakers. I alternate between my hand mixer and stand mixer, but the handiness of the stand mixer is amazing. Forget hand whipping meringue, this mixer will do it in 5 minutes! Although these mixer are a little more expensive, they are super handy and last forever. Bonus: It add a special touch to your kitchen decor. I highly recommend the Pistachio color because just look at it… aaaahhh. ๐Ÿ˜

2. Holiday Stripe Apron

Let me tell you. I have stained so many shirts in the baking process or just making a mess in general. Covering your clothes in a durable apron will save you so much stain spray I can’t even tell you! These William Sonoma aprons are a great material that can go right in the wash and continue using for years. They have a ton of fun designs and you can even personalize them. They have kids sizes too so you can enjoy all the holiday baking with your kiddos. (Psst, secret tip. If you don’t want to get this one right from Williams Sonoma, you can find them on Amazon too. ๐Ÿ˜‰)

3. 10 pk Holiday Cookie Cutters

Holiday baking may be one of my favorite things because it’s just so fun. Decorating all those festive cookies with your kiddos is the best. The best thing about these cutters is the little plastic lip on top. I know, your probably like whaaatt? Sometimes pressing down on the metal cookie cutters can hurt your hands, but the cutters with the flat top or silicone tops will prevent that. Oh, another best thing, they’re only $5! Go on, grab em now!

4. Silpats + Piping Set

I recently got some silpats for all the cookie making I do and let me tell you, they are the bomb! I love parchment paper, but after a couple of times, you have to throw it out. If you don’t know, silpats are just thin silicone mats that you put on cookie sheets in the place of parchment paper. This great pack comes with 3, and 2 of them have macaron stencils on them, so if you’re a big macaron maker you can make them perfect every time. Not to mention the kit also comes with piping bags, ties, and tips. Bonus: there is a $4 off coupon right now, so click that link!

5. One Tin Bakes Cookbook

This year Edd Kimber, a former Great British Bake Off contestant, published his new cookbook, One Tin Bakes. There are so many great recipes in here that are easy and only need a 9×13″ pan. I have seen a lot of fellow bakers getting some inspo from his book, plus it’s a great little gift for the baker in your life.

6. Sur La Table Baking Class

Last year my mom and I went to a couple of the Sur La Table baking classes and boy, they are so great for learning new tips, meeting new people, and eating food while you’re there because duh. They have dinner classes, pastry, baking… you name it. You sign up for the classes and go to your nearest location and cook. Even with Covid happening, they are still letting 8 people in per class. This is a great gift for a fellow baker or cook in the family that wants to learn some new tricks from chefs. Gift one to yourself and a friend!

7. Wood Round Cheese Paddle

If you’re a big party person (well not right now…๐Ÿ˜•) and love to make charcuterie boards or take photos with cheese boards, this is for you! These wood boards are great for food photography, appetizer plates, cake boards…etc. If you want more of a sleek style they also have a marble board. I love how sleek these boards are and the special touch they add to photos and your kitchen.

8. Nordic Ware Bundt Pan Set

Honestly, Bundt Cake may be one of the easiest desserts because you just whip up the batter, bake, and you’re done. No special decorating, no special baking process. Nordic Ware makes very durable bundt pans and this special set is a bundle of 2. Normally their pans are a little higher cost, but with 2 you are actually getting a better deal ๐Ÿ˜. Plus, you can switch up your designs. Add these to your list now!

9. 4-Piece Mixing Bowl Set

You can’t bake without mixing bowls and having them practical (and pretty) is the most important. Make all your batter, frosting, whip cream, and dough that you can imagine. This set of 4 easily compacts into each other making it convenient for storage.

10. Williams Sonoma 3-Piece Bakeware Set

If I had to say the #1 used item in my kitchen it would be my cookie sheets. Hands down! They can be used for not only cookies, but toffee, sheet cakes, and more. These cookie sheets are steel pans making them extra durable for all that baking you do. Bonus: You get a cooling rack! This is great for cooling cookies fast and evenly.

11. Hearth & Hand Wood & Metal Covered Cake Stand

You spent all that time baking the cake and decorating it, you don’t want it to go stale (and you want to show off that skill ๐Ÿ˜). Instead of keeping your cake slices in Tupperware, showcase your goods in a cake stand. I got one of these stands a couple of years ago from the Hearth & Hand collection by Joanna Gaines and it is the best. I put cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins… and more all in there. It looks great in your kitchen with those homemade goodies + you can just grab a slice and then cover it up. This is the perfect gift for any cake baker or showcase-r.

12. Martha Stewart Tool Crock

You might look at this and be like whaaatt? Do you have a junk drawer of stuff like most people? (I do…) You need this asap! Add all your common tools right into the pot so they’re easy to grab-and-go anytime you need them. The 4 sections help to keep everything organized and easy to grab. It looks stylish on your kitchen counter and it’s practical. I mean, anything is better than that drawer over there. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about.

13. White Marble Photography Backdrop from Replica Surfaces

Is the baker in your life also a blogger or photographer? Then they will definitely appreciate these backdrops! Replica Surfaces creates their own backdrops for photography so you don’t have to worry about that mess in the background. The marbled design is the most versatile, but they have many more too. They may be a pretty penny, but they last forever, add a special touch to your photos, and they are super durable. You can wipe anything off the surface.

14. Mini Waffle Maker

If you’re tired of buying Eggos, but don’t want to make a whole waffle, this mini waffle iron might be just the thing for you. Make your boxed waffle mix anytime and just enough for a few people. What’s the best thing? It’s only $10! They have a bunch of different colors and designs, so go grab one. I know I am!

15. Cuisinart 5-Speed Hand Mixer

If you don’t want to invest in a stand mixer but are tired of hand mixing everything, this hand mixer has your name all over it. The sleek design can go with any style. The material is resistant and easy to wipe off. Ok and listen to this, it’s less than $40. I heard you, go buy one for yourself and a friend.

16. Holiday Sprinkle Mix

If you’re baking with the kiddos this year or have a young baker in your life, you know they would appreciate some sprinkles. These aren’t just your store bought rainbow mix, there are all sorts of shapes, colors, and designs. Order a few for every season!

17. Stoneware Pie Dish, Set of 3

That’s right, you get 3 pie dishes for only $70. (Wow, this is sounding more and more like an infomercial ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ) If you have a pie maker in the fam, you know how much they appreciate nice stoneware. These set has 3 different designs so you can switch it up anytime. The stoneware will last forever. No need to worry about warping, stains…

18. 9×13″ Textured Baking Dish

I don’t know about you but I use my 9×13″ pan all the time. Rolls, bars, brownies, cake, bread, breakfast goodies… you could probably make almost everything in this pan. Not only do you want it to be durable, but stylish because the presentation is everything. (At least if you’re a blogger ๐Ÿ˜) Also, it’s less than $20.

19. Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven, Flip-Up and Away

Ok so this is a big ticket item, but it’s well worth it. There are 6 different settings for cooking your food. Bake, crisp, air fry, broil, toast, and roast. Not only can it do basically everything, but it also flips away once you’re done so it doesn’t take up precious counter space. ๐Ÿ‘ to Ninja for inventing this because it is ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

20. Comical Quilted Oven Mitt

Ok, enough big-ticket items, we need some funny gifts around here. I randomly picked this oven mitt from Amazon, but they have so many other fun designs for the perfect person. There’s nothing better than telling someone you love them than with an oven mitt like this. Also, it’s $15 so just go grab one.

Happy holidays everyone! Hope these little kitchen gadgets and tools find a good place somewhere. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Cookies and love,

Gillian
